Brownlow night a winner for Seven
Ratings: Brownlow numbers lift on 2014 as Seven dominates, but it wasn't all bad news for the rest.

It’s always a tough night going up against the Brownlow Medal and last night was no exception.
It drew 1.05m in 3 cities of which more than half were in Melbourne alone, improving on 2014’s 939,000. Add to that another 105,000 viewing in Sydney and Brissy on 7mate.
But it wasn’t all bad for other networks, doubtless drawing upon audiences in other cities.
The Block was almost unchanged from last Monday while House Husbands dipped slightly. ABC titles, off the back of a particularly strong Monday last week, still did good business.
TBL Families grew on last Monday’s numbers but Have You Been Paying Attention? was down by 79,000.
Seven network won with a 36.3% share then Nine 24.8%, 18.4%, TEN 15.5% and SBS 5.0%.
Seven News (1.15m / 1.00m) topped the night for Seven then Brownlow Medal 2015 (1.05m in 3 cities / Red Carpet: 676,000), Home and Away (669,000 in 3 cities) and The Chase (668,000 / 476,000). In Sydney and Brisbane the movie Now You See Me was 219,000.
Nine News (1.02m / 1.1m) was best for Nine followed by The Block (947,000), A Current Affair (936,000), House Husbands (717,000) and Hot Seat (570,000). Movie: Muriel’s Wedding was 260,000.
ABC News (931,000) led for ABC followed by 7:30 (779,000), Australian Story (747,000), Four Corners (740,000), Media Watch (617,000) and Q & A (565,000).
The Project (641,000 / 486,000) was best for TEN. TBL Families was 552,000, TEN Eyewitness News was 456,000, Have You Been Paying Attention? was 486,000 and NCIS: New Orleans was just 162,000.
Cats Uncovered (308,000), The Wonder of Dogs (255,000), SBS World News (117,000) and Hunters of the South Seas (102,000) comprised SBS.
7TWO’s A Touch of Frost (273,000) topped multichannels.
Sunrise: 318,000
Today: 291,000
ABC News Breakfast: 90,000 / 61,000
OzTAM Overnights: Monday 28 September 2015

Enjoyed the brownlow medal. It would have been interesting if the Dally M awards were on Nine on the same night then the ratings would have been interesting. Still Looking forward to Grand Final Countdown. although i miss That Was the Season That Was. Why wont 7 bring it back it can be Talking Footy special on the night before the Grand Final now that was a great way to prepare for a Grand Final day.
i find the ending to the brownlow very amateurish rd 22 you find out fyfe cannot be beaten so bruce congrats fyfe then players are shaking his hand and gil is reading out rd23 results that cannot be heard over the clapping , why not just wait until the count is over then congrat to the winner . bruce interview fyfe while he is sitting at his table then walks on stage andmore interviews there its like a club event
I watched Peaky Blinders on ABC2 last night. It was a good start. The time and place were captured really well. Sam Neill had his Belfast accent down pretty pat apart from a couple of minor slips.
thoroughly enjoyed Peaky Blinders, can’t say enough good things about it.
Nat Fyfe would be proud with his Brownlow Medal. So many Freo fans are wanting Nat Fyfe to win the medal.
Good to see TBL rise slightly. Sad to see Rina go though! 🙁
Haha Channel 9, Hot Seat is losing! David, do think Millionaire Hot Seat will be in trouble next year?
If one knew such things, one would be running a network or being a bookmaker. Chase has launched well, although I’m not a fan of dividing 1 hr shows into 2 x ratings numbers. Hot Seat has had a few wins in the 5:30 slot against it so I think dust needs to settle. Seven will be happy.
Back in 2009, Nine did a prime time special of Hot Seat and The Block isn’t rating good. Hope Nine does another prime time special at 8 o’clock.
At least Hot Seat doesn’t dress its talent in silly costumes.
“Talent”?
With The Chase 5:30-6pm 476,000 -v- Hot Seat 570,000 not sure where the “Hot Seat is losing!” claim comes from.
The Chase was 668,000 for 5:30. Numbers are listed in order of ranking, not timeslot.
Read the figures properly Jason!
I think it’s way too early for either side to be claiming victory. Let’s give it 3-6 months and then see where the ratings for each show is at.
