Maggie Kirkpatrick appeal set for December

Former Prisoner star Maggie Kirkpatrick appeared in a Melbourne court today seeking to appeal a sexual assault conviction against her last month.

Kirkpatrick, 74, was last month found guilty of assaulting a 14-year-old in her Prahran home some 30 years ago, sentenced to an 18-month community corrections order, including 100 hours of community work, and placed on the sex offenders register for eight years.

The court was told an appeal hearing would last about two days from December 7, with witnesses for both the prosecution and defence set to testify.

Kirkpatrick did not comment as she left court.
