NWS9 will relocate to a new CBD base in Adelaide next Monday.

The Hindmarsh Square building includes a street-level, glass-fronted studio, the only news studio outside of Sydney that enables the public to watch a news in operation. It also features newsroom, boardroom and office space.

Nine Adelaide’s Managing Director, Sean O’Brien, said, “These new premises are a game-changer for Nine and provide the opportunity for our business to be the pre-eminent media brand in the heart of the CBD.

“It has been a complex project with more than 27,000 man-hours behind it that has involved extending the building facade, the installation of more than 100 kilometres of cables, upgrading the power supply, a new data centre linking Nine News to the world, new signage, studio, and modern facilities for all employees.

“We have also procured new technology including robotic studio and remote fixed cameras using Telemetrics Inc. technology.

“To say we are excited about our new home is an understatement. With our ratings position stronger than ever we are now equipped to set the benchmark with technology, community engagement and innovation.”

The building will be officially opened with a star-studded launch on Thursday, October 8.

  1. Is “… a street-level, glass-fronted studio …” upbeat PR-speak for “telephone box”?

Might as well be, for all the studio content 9 produce outside of Sydbourne. State news, and … ?

  2. I noticed the Nine logo on the building last Thursday when I was visiting a client which had views of that side of the city. I wonder if they will introduce a new set design to incorporate the outside view, or drag in the existing one and remove the monitor behind them.
Side note, the Nine Logo is looking very dated, time for a new look.

      1. Instead of dropping the ‘balls’, why not drop the number ‘9’ instead and just have a logo with the 9 ‘balls’ instead? Yes the full Nine logo is very dated, is like Nine’s thinking is still very much stuck in the 1970’s.
