UK drama, Safe House, starring Christopher Eccleston, has been renewed for a second season.

The ITV drama, also featuring Marsha Thomason and Paterson Joseph, will return for 4 more episodes.

The second series will see the married couple played by Eccleston and Thomason who own a guest house in a remote Lake District location, continue to offer sanctuary to those in need of protection, when lives are at risk and the stakes high.

“We had a tremendous reaction from the audience to Safe House,” said ITV’s Director of Drama Steve November. “From the gripping story and compelling performances, we were delighted with every aspect of the production. With Ed Whitmore and Tracey Malone writing the scripts and Jill and Paula producing we know the new series will be in safe hands,” he added.

  1. Good to know its been renewed. Watched it on BBC 1st on fetch after reading about it on this site. Wouldn’t have known about it otherwise. Thought the ending with the mystery of the wife’s past lent itself to a renewal.
