Former Home and Away star Steve Peacocke has joined upcoming Rebecca Gibney drama, Wanted.

Gibney stars in the series which follows two strangers who intervene in a deadly carjacking only to be swept up in a roller coaster chase across Australia in a car full of money. She will be joined by
Geraldine Hakewill (Australia: The Story of Us, Camp, Rescue Special Ops) plus Nicholas Bell (The Ex-PM, The Time of Our Lives, Serangoon Road, Mad as Hell) and Ryan Corr (Packed to the Rafters, Love Child, Holding the Man).

The Matchbox Pictures project begins filming in Queensland today.

Gibney is an executive producer alongside Tony Ayres and Julie McGauran, while Gibney’s partner Richard Bell produces along with Andy Walker.

The project also has new directors, Peter Templeman (Not Suitable For Children, Old School, LochieLeonard) and Jennifer Leacey (Mary: Making Of A Princess, Wonderland).

Rebecca Gibney said: “I am beyond excited about the extraordinary team of people we have assembled for Wanted and to be filming in the beautiful state of Queensland is a dream come true.”

Brad Lyons, Seven’s Director of Network Production, said: “We are tremendously excited about
this project. Rebecca is playing a role unlike any of her previous characters, combined with Steve
Peacocke’s first major role back in Australia. This dramatic partnership will guarantee a
memorable screen experience.”

Timothy Hobart (Wentworth, Mr & Mrs Murder) is lead writer and Script Producer, joined by writers John Ridley and Kirsty Fisher.

It’s not clear how Wanted impacts on any future for Winter, which screened earlier this year.
