Watch the first 8 minutes of Quantico

Your first look at the new drama thriller, coming to Seven shortly.

ABC network (US) has released the first 8 minutes of its new drama series Quantico, which is due to be fast-tracked by Seven.

We’re expecting an airdate announcement sometime next week for this one.

In this edge-of-your-seat, sexy thriller, a diverse group of recruits has arrived at the FBI Quantico Base for training. They are the best, the brightest and the most vetted, so it seems impossible that one of them is suspected of masterminding the biggest attack on New York City since 9/11. Smash showrunner Josh Safran writes and executive produces with Mark Gordon (Grey’s Anatomy, Criminal Minds) and Nick Pepper.

  1. Gotta love the buzz words our commercial networks come up with, Fast Tracked. It’s like the other one they use to promote their programs, “At the special time of 8:40 tonight.” Can someone please explain, “Was is special about 8:40 or any other time of the day?”

  2. I would be pissed if I were 7.

ABC does not have the digital rights to the series in Australia. Why is this not geoblocked to the US?

This could negatively affect 7’s ratings – and may not fit in with 7’s plans on how to market the show.

    Pretty sloppy by ABC.

7’s output deal with Disney is Disney’s largest single outpuut deal. They should treat their clients better

    1. It’s only the first 8 mins not the whole episode. There are already problems worldwide with geoblocking and now you want to geoblock an overseas networks promotional activities?

    2. Yes. Let’s ask for more restrictions on information. That’s always worked so well in the past.

Picking up on the thread already opened – it’s ridiculous of Seven to not even have announced a date yet, let alone (I’m assuming) not run any promos. How on earth do they expect to get people interested in tuning in?

I suspect that it is not only TVT readers who can see that this will result in low ratings which will lead to Seven bumping the show. Therefore, some of us won’t bother watching on Seven, which will only lead to even lower ratings. It’s like they want it to fail.

btw, it actually looks pretty good. Time will tell whether it can maintain that level or descend into silliness as happened with The Blacklist. The almost-compulsory terrorist mole series arc and the all-too-obvious clandestine relationship between the two protagonists does kinda make me think that this…

      1. Have only seen a really brief promo on 7 that didn’t tell you a lot and said coming soon. I wouldn’t give the show a try based on that promo. Australian networks are really bad at promos. Since I’ve watched the first 8 minutes and the abc official 3 minute trailer on youtube it looks like something worth giving a try but seeing the poor job 7 have done in promoting it so far I’m not sure I should bother. I don’t want to try a new show and have it played around with.

    1. Quantico doesn’t start in the US until Sunday September 27 (Monday September 28 in Australia). However, as Seven will show the Brownlow Medal on the main channel in AFL states on September 28, the Australian premiere may be split across two nights on September 28 and 29.

    2. Not impressed either. There are shows that are already earmarked for fast tracking that begin in USA next week yet viewers have no idea about airdates or start times. So no promos a few weeks out with dates and times and viewers don’t know they are on. Then they air to supposedly “low” ratings cause no one knew about it and those “low” ratings are used as an excuse to say fast tracking doesn’t work. Free to air networks you’ve had the US dates for months when these shows are going to air stop treating viewers like crap.
