But it was retweeted by showbiz reporter Richard Reid.

“I saw the initial tweet and blocked it, but to see a cast mate retweet it was being disappointing,” Greig told News Corp.

“A troll is a troll and that doesn’t bother me, but re-tweeting that message is irresponsible. I’m not angry at Richard Reid, just disappointed that a profile person world encourage this.”

Others queried Reid why he chose to retweet the message.

Fellow cast member Tim Dormer also weighed in on the matter, saying it was a “line you don’t cross,” before labelling Reid a “d***.”

Greig has previously said she did not know Celebrity Apprentice would refer to her as a “Royal Prank DJ” until she saw the premiere episode air. In next week’s episode she explains the impact the incident had on her life, including 3 years out of work.

Update: Richard Reid has since apologised.

@RReidsHollywood: “It was thoughtless to retweet a negative comment about MEL l. I get on these “re-teet rolls” where I just re-tweet good and bad comments.”

@RReidsHollywood: “I didn’t take into account that some people do take these comments seriously and more more importantly that I would hurt Mels feelings.”

“Lesson learned.”

  1. Massive mistake by Mel Greig to join the show. If her plan was to resurrect her career, it has backfired terribly. Same goes with Blake Garvey. The show hasn’t done Richard Reid any favours and Tim Dormer is reiterating the fact he is a nasty piece of work. Terrible season thus far. The show should never have been renewed. It performed poorly last season.

    1. It’s better to include “Lifeline: 13 11 14” than nothing at all. Many media outlets don’t. People underestimate the importance of including a help-seeking service in articles like this.

      Good job David.

  2. I find her involvement distasteful anyway. Her “celebrity” credentials on the show are “Royal Prank DJ” . Terrible to think that being involved in a tragedy can make you a celebrity.

    1. The grammar and spelling, and use of the correct word (their/there/they’re, your/you’re, here here/hear hear, foreign spelling, e.g. apologized) in anti-social media and blog sites, is depressing. Even worse when I get a letter from an MP with the same basic mistakes. People, it’s infant school stuff. Spell Check only means the word is correctly spelt, not that it’s the correct word to use.
