Former ABC exec to head up Drama division at Beyond

Former ABC drama executive David Ogilvy has been appointed to head Beyond’s scripted drama division.

Ogilvy was Commissioning Editor of Fiction at ABC as network co-exec producer on The Code, Rake, Anzac Girls, Janet King, Hiding, Mabo, An Accidental Soldier, Paper Giants: Magazine Wars and The Straits.

At Beyond he will develop scripted content across a broad range of genres, both local and international, sourcing established writing, directing and producing talent.

Mikael Borglund, Managing Director and CEO at Beyond, commented, “We are thrilled to have David join us. His extensive experience in scripted content will be the cornerstone of Beyond’s push to deliver the quality drama to audiences in Australia and internationally”.

David Ogilvy added, “Having been a dedicated fan of Beyond’s acclaimed dramas Halifax F.P. and Stingers in the formative years of my career, it’s a wonderful opportunity to join the company at such a dynamic time for scripted production”.

Prior to ABC Ogilvy’s own writing credits include East West 101, The Strip, Young Lions, Lockie Leonard, Dance Academy, Outriders, Blue Water High and Escape from Jupiter.
