New animated children’s series, Kuu Kuu Harajuku, based on characters created by singer Gwen Stefani is set to have its world premiere on ELEVEN this Sunday morning.

The series, produced by Australia’s Moody Street Kids and Malaysia’s Vision Animation, was co-commissioned by TEN.

Kuu Kuu Harajuku follows G as she forms a musical group with her friends, Love, Angel, Music and Baby.  The voice cast includes Maggie Chretien, Daisy Masterman, Emma Taylor-Isherwood, Sally Taylor-Isherwood, Linda Miles, Charlotte Nicdao and Danny Smith.

Together the girls sing and dance up a storm but villains, aliens and other Harajuku-style catastrophes are always lying dormant in an attempt to impede their success.

Gwen hopes young viewers will embrace the core values of the Harajuku girl characters, who are full of self-expression, confidence, uniqueness and curiosity. They are stylish, determined and creative, and never give up on chasing their dreams.

Gwen Stefani is credited as an Executive Producer role, and also performs the opening music title.

“Working on Kuu Kuu Harajuku has been a dream come true. It’s been incredible to see the characters and the world they live in come to life,” she said.

Sunday, November 1, at 10.00am on ELEVEN.
