ABC3 mockumentary Little Lunch, which aired in May this year, has been sold to Netflix US, UK and Ireland.

Melbourne-based Gristmill helmed by Robyn Butler and Wayne Hope, has also sold the 26 part series to TVO in Canada and TVB in Hong Kong.

Wayne Hope, director and producer, says, “We’re thrilled that the seemingly small stakes of the playground resonated so widely. Thankfully, the anxieties around having the wrong costume on dress- up-day or a weird snack in your lunch box are universally funny.”

Little Lunch, which sees kids tackle the big issues in the playground, will also be showcased next week at MIPCOM in Cannes.

Gristmill’s comedy feature Now Add Honey, starring Robyn Butler, Portia de Rossi and Hamish Blake will be released on Nov 5.

  1. Just been catching up on this show. It really is a gem. It’s aimed at kids but there’s a lot of stuff in there that would go over their heads and would makes adults laugh out loud. Some brilliant comedy. You can tell that Robyn Butler and Wayne Hope are involved.
