Foxtel is buoyed by early ratings results for its newest drama series A Place to Call Home.

After three episodes have aired it has attracted a consolidated cumulative audience of 500,000 viewers across all airings, which puts it only behind Game of Thrones and Wentworth as top-rating dramas on the platform.

Impressively, the show has been the top-rating non-sports broadcast on STV across each of the three Sundays it has aired, drawing exactly 154,000 viewers in each of its premiere playouts.

Foxtel Executive Director of Television Brian Walsh said: “We are knocked out by this outstanding result. It is a timely reminder that Australians love great Australian story telling and quality drama which is well conceived, beautifully written, directed and performed. The result once again demonstrates Foxtel’s commitment to commissioning great Australian stories and our thanks to our friends and colleagues at 7 Network Productions for crafting such a fine piece of Australian television drama.

“There is no doubt our audience and loyal subscribers have embraced the return of this much loved and critically acclaimed series, so our decision last year to greenlight the further two series is well vindicated,” he said.

This week’s episode of A Place to Call Home (premiering Sunday October 18 on SoHo) will be the fourth in the ten episode season produced by Seven Productions In this episode the Poletti vines need hard work and Anna’s (Abby Earl) dream of marrying her farm boy turns into harsh reality.
