There are just two new panellists announced for this week’s episode of The Verdict: Miranda Tapsell and Julian Burnside.

Adopting a different format to the rotating Q & A model, it will return with Mark Latham, Sandy Rea, Anne Henderson, Campbell Brown and Dr. Anne Aly.

But will it include a “talking stick” please?

On this week’s episode of The Verdict, Chair Karl Stefanovic will be joined by the panel below to discuss a variety of topics fuelling debate around the country including: Should we close down detention centres and welcome more refugees? Is Australia racist? Does social media do more harm than good?

Miranda Tapsell (The Verdict One-on-One guest) – Indigenous Australian actress
· Julian Burnside AO QC – Australian barrister, human rights and refugee advocate, and author

· Mark Latham – former federal Labor leader and stay at home dad
· Sandy Rea – psychologist
· Campbell Brown– former Australian Rules footballer
· Anne Henderson- Deputy Director of The Sydney Institute and editor of The Sydney Papers and co-editor of The Sydney Institute Quarterly
· Dr. Anne Aly- Australian political scholar, academic and counter-terrorism expert

The show is also asking for poll votes on the question “Is Australia racist?” as well as an open call for audience members.

      Elevator pitch: Rick, Michonne, Carl, & Baby Kickass sail to Australia. The plague hasn’t reached there yet. Nothing changes, except _why_ they smash heads…

  1. OMG, seven all talking over each other. Poll votes are meaningless. The only type of accurate polling is computer-generated random phone calls across an entire LGA/city/state. If this is to be introduced during the show then Qld, SA, NT, WA peoples don’t waste your 55 cents.
    And the guy who thought it was a pity Troy Newman’s mother hadn’t had an abortion is apparently back. Gotta keep the standards down at commercial television level.
