Director / Producer Adrian Dellevergin, a longtime Nine talent who directed Logie Awards and Carols by Candlelight for Nine, has died.
Dellevergin, who worked at Nine for nearly 40 years, has a long list of credits heading up Nine productions, many of which were Live Variety and Light Entertainment shows.
They include Logie Awards, Carols by Candlelight, This is Your Life, The Singing Bee, The Nation, Dancing on Ice, Merrick & Rosso Unplanned, Micallef Tonight, The Mick Molloy Show, Postcards and Sale of the Century.
Nine CEO David Gyngell sent a note to staff calling him “our great friend, and a genuine Nine hero.”
“Adi, as we knew him, first walked through the doors at GTV as a shy 11-year-old appearing on Brian and the Juniors. He worked in the mail room at 14, was a stage hand two years later, and the rest is history.
“For almost 40 years at Nine he was quite simply a huge talent, a warm and engaging bloke who was so brilliant at making television, and so good with people that he could work minor miracles.
“He grew to become one of the most outstanding producer/directors in the history of our industry. Adrian produced or directed everything there was to do at Nine. We’ve lost count of his Logies credits, or Carols by Candlelight – then every other program on the block, every major event, every special, Adrian was there directing traffic and making it happen. And always at his best LIVE. He chewed up the pressure. Calmly, brilliantly, seamlessly.
“And always so generous, with his signature style and that ready laugh.”
So sad to learn of passing of @channel9 colleague, longtime Carols By Candlelight exec producer & friend, Adrian Dellevergin. Rest in peace.

He was Channel Nine, a professional to the very end. He will be greatly missed. Condolences to his family..
Very sad to hear. He was also an awesome singer who could belt out an Elton John song or two with pizazz.
