Yes!

Especially when the damn things keep you hooked for hours on end and leave you drained and walking like a zombie out in the daylight….

SBS 2 continues its video game docos this Thursday night with Are Video Games Really That Bad?

This delves into science and meets passionate gamers, journalists, programmers, psychologists and neuroscientists to find out what impact playing video games is having on our brains.

It finds out how developers engineer their games to make sure they reach the sweet spot between frustration and boredom for the gamer, and looks at some of the scientific tests being carried out around the world to understand the impact of gaming on behaviour, physiology and neurobiology.

Do gamers who play the most violent games show more violent behaviour? Are gamers better at spatial navigation? Do they have faster response times than non-gamers? Just how addictive are video games – and could there be any positive effects to playing games?

Featuring the very latest science from across the world and full of surprises, this documentary reveals the true impact of video games.

Thursday, 26 November at 9.30pm on SBS 2.
