The 2015 Schools Spectacular will air on Nine next week.

Hosted by John Foreman, the event is themed “This Is Our World” and will feature 3,600 young performers from across NSW plus The McClymonts and Voice contender Joe Moore.

World-class country music artist Samantha McClymont and star of Nine’s new series of Farmer Wants a Wife will co-host and perform with her sisters, The McClymonts, at the 32nd edition of the NSW Department of Education’s flagship performing arts event, which showcases up and coming talent from across New South Wales.

Joe Moore, The Voice runner-up this year, will also headline the event, debuting a new single from his chart-topping album, A Thousand Lifetimes.

This Schools Spectacular, the last one held at the Qantas Credit Union Arena, will be hosted by John Foreman and feature almost 3,600 of NSW’s most talented young singers, dancers and musicians in the most anticipated school musical event of the year.

They have been selected after an extensive audition process for the 1,300-voice choir, 80-piece orchestra, and 2,000 dancers and soloists from the age of five to 18 in a dazzling display of music, dance and pageantry.

Schools Spectacular has produced amazing talent over the years such as winner of The Voice 2014 Anja Nissen, international super group Human Nature and folk indie duo Angus and Julia Stone.

Telecast on the Nine Network since 2013, the Schools Spectacular has been enjoyed by more than 1.1 million viewers and has won its Sydney timeslot for two years running.

Saturday, December 5, at 7.00pm on Nine.

  1. So… the Victorian State Schools Spectacular is being broadcast at exactly the same time on Channel 7! Established in 1995, the “Spec” this year has theme of “What’s Your Story”. You can watch it live in Victoria, or stream live online with the Plus7 app/website (change the region to Victoria) and later on catchup streaming. Nine won’t get this function until 2016 (whats good, Nine!) I might be biased (I am most definitely biased) but the Victorian Spectacular this year is going to be awesome!

    1. I’m predicting it’ll be at Allphones Arena at Homebush in 2016. The new theatre being built as part of the Sydney Convention/Exhibition Centre rebuild likely won’t have the space for the big production numbers the Schools Spec event has become known for.
