Next week Showcase premieres Scrum, a documentary on the Bingham Cup tournament being played in Sydney, in memory of Mark Bingham who died on United flight 93 on September 11.

Despite crash tackling the terrorists on United flight 93, Mark Bingham died along with everyone on board the flight on September 11, 2001. Mark was gay, he loved rugby and he died a hero. In his honour, the Bingham Cup, an international gay rugby tournament was founded.

For the first time ever, the Bingham Cup tournament is being played in Sydney, Australia. A self-assured Canadian jock, a chubby Irish backpacker and a stoic Japanese outsider united by their love of rugby and sexuality, come together under a determined Australian coach to vie for a position in the gay rugby world cup.

Scrum takes the audience on an intimate journey into the lives of these men as they prepare physically and mentally for the gruelling rugby tournament.

Tuesday November 10 at 8.35pm on Showcase.
