Despite Reality premieres and finales, viewers weren’t particularly driven by many entertainment shows last night, with the exception of The Block.

Celebrity Apprentice finished with 638,000 viewers after a disappointing season. Seven’s Barbecue Heroes premiered to 682,000 viewers, third in its slot -while it wasn’t too low, it may increase over summer without The Block to contend with.

Without Gruen as a lead-in The Ex-PM dropped from 594,000 to 553,000 despite the earlier timeslot.

Nine network won the night with 31.6% then Seven 27.8%, ABC 18.3%, TEN 16.3% and SBS 6.0%.

  1. I quite liked BBQ Heroes and think it will be a good summer show. Its Extremely light entertainment and very much aimed at ‘everyday Australians’ but its easy to watch and having it set outside in a caravan park without endless dramatic music gave it quite a laid back, easy vibe. It seemed to flow quite quickly and easily – I’d watch it again.

  2. The lower viewing figures may have had something to do with the hot weather that is upon us at the moment….. I gave BBQ Heroes a go, but there was no chemistry between the three hosts/judges and whilst Robert was good as contestant on MKR he was just a plank of wood as a judge with no insight at all, Ben does a good job but it just came across as a bit too try hard….. It seems to me Ch7 feel the same way as there has not been that much promotion or publicity leading up to its premiere last night… Shame really….

      1. Promotion and Publicity for programs are different to in house promos….. Look at the difference between when ch7 launched Restaurant Revolution compared to BBQ Heroes……

  3. Hi David, if you get a chance could you please post the ratings for Dr Phil on Ten at 12pm, Ellen on Nine at 12pm and the Killing Field on 7 at 12pm, and also the ratings for The Talk on Ten at 1pm.
    Thank you
    Sam
