In the final episode of Kitchen Cabinet for 2015, Annabel Crabb heads to the Adelaide home of Liberal Senator Cory Bernardi.

This episode is said to be quite a zinger.

For lunch Bernardi prepares a seafood salad and while cooking the conversation topics range from his former career as a publican serving beers to Adelaide journalists, putting up tents in Libya for Colonel Gaddafi and the time he thought he gave a newly elected Prime Minister tuberculosis.

Over lunch the pair discusses why he is one of the most controversial figures in parliament today, same sex marriage, multiculturalism and whether he has plans to break away from the Liberal Party.

Liberal Senator Cory Bernardi started out as a champion rower, representing Australia internationally. When his sporting career finished due to injury Bernardi became a publican, then a stockbroker and financial advisor. At 28 Bernardi became the President of the South Australian Liberal Party. He entered the Senate aged 36. He served in both the Turnbull and Abbott shadow ministries, and was sacked from both for controversial comments. Bernardi has written six books and is a regular blogger on his personal website. He is married to Sinead and has two sons.

Wednesday, December 2 at 8pm on ABC.
