Ratings: Seven takes another week of ratings as the TV year winds down.

Things were pretty tight between Seven and Nine going into Saturday night, with just 0.7% splitting the two networks.

But after Seven scored 6% clear of its main rival, it secured another week.

The Melbourne Cup dominated the week, despite not directly adding to Seven’s primetime share.

Best brands for each network were:

Seven: Melbourne Cup (Race: 2.1m), The X Factor (Mon: 1.15m), Seven News (Sun: 1.14m) and 800 Words (1.08m).

Nine: The Block (Sun: 1.21m), Nine News (Sun: 1.14m), 60 Minutes (936,000) and The Big Bang Theory (Tues: 881,000).

TEN: Gogglebox (683,000), Have You Been Paying Attention? (658,000), Jamie’s Super Food (629,000) and TBL Families (Mon: 591,000).

ABC: New Tricks (921,000), Gruen (900,000), ABC News (Sat: 815,000) and Australian Story (803,000).

SBS: Egypt: What Lies Beneath (354,000), Dogs: Their Secret Lives (268,0000), True Grit (266,000) and 24 Hours in Emergency (251,000).

Seven won Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Nine scored Sunday and Wednesday. ABC bettered TEN on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.

Seven ranked first in Sydney, Adelaide and Perth but Nine was victorious in Melbourne and Brisbane.

There are now less than 3 weeks remaining in the 2015 ratings year.
