The Today show is staging an outdoor broadcast, “Five Ship Spectacular” that will feature five P&O cruise ships in Sydney Harbour at the same time.
The broadcast on Wednesday November 25 will mark the arrival of the Pacific Aria and Pacific Eden -both have been sailing under the Holland America Line, but begin service for P&O later this month.
Karl Stefanovic, Lisa Wilkinson, Sylvia Jeffreys, Tim Gilbert and Ross Greenwood will be positioned on the Pacific Aria. At Fort Denison Richard Wilkins will host the entertainment joined by Jessica Mauboy and Kate Ritchie, who will officially name the Pacific Aria and Pacific Eden ships.
Stevie Jacobs will be at Mrs Macquarie’s Chair, hosting a barbecue for viewers with prizes, including a nine-night cruise to the Pacific Islands.
“Sydney Harbour is without a doubt one of the most beautiful locations in the world. Watching the sun come up as this magnificent fleet moves into formation off Sydney Heads and then enters the Harbour one by one will be breathtaking,” said Lisa Wilkinson.
Karl Stefanovic added, “Everyone loves a big boat – so five ships in Sydney Harbour will be massive. We’ll have cameras in exclusive vantage points all over Sydney as the ships come in, as well as right in the middle of the action when Jess and Kate name the ships and we see those big champagne bottles smash.”
Live from 5.30am Wednesday, November 25 on Nine.

No doubt Sunrise will be there somehow too, whether Nine is Exclusive or not. Its a big harbour.
Doubtful! Unless it becomes a news item for some reason.
I’m from Sydney. It will be all over the news. Last time 2 ships crossed in the harbour it was covered from every angle…. Eg. QE2 & QV
Gotta agree with David on this one. Channel 7 won’t be there.
Blatant advertising
