American Crime Story coming to TEN

TEN will be screening anthology series American Crime Story, tipped to run in February.

Focusing on some of the biggest true crime stories ever, it begins with the OJ Simpson case as told from the perspective of the lawyers. This is based on the book The Run of His Life: The People v. O.J. Simpson by Jeffrey Toobin.

The series features a star cast including Cuba Gooding, Jr as O.J. Simpson, John Travolta as Robert Shapiro, David Schwimmer as Robert Kardashian plus Sarah Paulson, Courtney B. Vance, Evan Handler, Nathan Lane, Selma Blair, Cheryl Ladd, Billy Magnussen and Connie Britton.

21 years ago, O.J. Simpson was a football hero and television star who suddenly found himself in the centre of a murder trial that transfixed the world. The first wall-to-wall televised trial in history, O.J. was the star of a real-life murder mystery with a cast of characters who would soon become household names.

American Crime Story: The People V. O.J. Simpson revisits the most memorable moments of the marathon trial of the century, from the car chase to the glove that did not fit. It also explores the chaotic behind-the-scenes dealings and manoeuvring on both sides of the court, uncovering how a combination of O.J.’s overconfident “dream team” and the LAPD’s history with the city’s African-American community gave a jury what it needed: reasonable doubt.

The series launches in the US in February. No date on TEN has yet been announced.
