US drama The Blacklist starring James Spader has been renewed for a fourth season.
Deadline reports there had been rumours NBC may have given out a two-season pickup when it renewed it in February. That was never confirmed but, speaking on The Blacklist: Exposed podcast, creator Jon Bodenkamp did say that the renewal decision had been made a few months ago.
While its ratings have suffered in a move from Monday to Thursday on NBC, The Blacklist remains one of NBC’s strongest performers when delayed viewed is factored in.
It screens in Australia on Seven.

A 4th season takes it to 88 eps and a guaranteed syndication deal.
Even after the Thursday move it’s still averaged 1.5 rating (8-49) for the first block.
Love Spader, don’t love Blacklist, and would hate to have to chase it around Seven’s schedule.
Just love watching James Spader display his craft. He is the best at showing what a good actor can do.
