Next month Foxtel Arts will screen a world premiere documentary, Rod Taylor: Pulling No Punches, coproduced by Stephan Wellink and Stephan Elliott.
Rod Taylor was Australia’s most famous Hollywood star in the 1960s.
He featured in Alfred Hitchcock’s, “The Birds” and alongside John Wayne in “The Train Robbers”. The documentary has interview material with Rod himself and discusses his journey from Lidcombe to Los Angeles. Directed by Robert de Young and coproduced by Stephan Wellink and Stephan Elliott, Rod Taylor: Pulling No Punches profiles the career and legacy of the rugged Australian actor.
Thursday, February 11 at 7.30pm on Foxtel Arts.

I actually live only a few blocks away from where he was raised in Lidcombe and once met his father. But that’s incidental.
I was always pleased to see a Rod Taylor film. He had such a likable everyday man feel about him. First saw him in the TV series Hong Kong, which was way ahead of its time in dealing with Chinese issues. And of course there were The Birds, Time Machine, 36 Hours, Nobody Runs Forever and Dark of the Sun. Miss you Rod
