One of 2015’s hottest shows UnREAL begins on SBS 2 next month.

The series, which has previously streamed on Stan, dramatises the shady machinations of a Bachelor-style show and the producers who will stoop to anything to manufacture drama. This is wicked TV, folks.

Coincidentally screening in the same timeslot as The Farmer Wants a Wife on Nine.

Everlasting is the hit U.S. reality show where one hot bachelor gets his pick from over a dozen of the country’s most eligible and attractive single women. Sounds like a simple and romantic concept and one we’ve seen many times over. The catch? A young producer by the name of Shiri Appleby (played by Rachel Goldberg) whose sole job is to manipulate her relationships with and among the contestants to get the vital dramatic and outrageous footage that the program’s dispassionate executive producer, Quinn King (Constance Zimmer), demands. What unfolds is an eye-opening look at what happens in the outrageous world of unscripted television, where being a contestant can be vicious and producing it is a whole other reality, showing that bad people make good T.V.

The hit series also stars Craig Bierko as Everlasting’s eccentric creator, Chet, whose relationship with the show’s executive producer gets overly complicated, and Freddie Stroma as the dating show’s handsome and intelligent English suitor, Adam Cromwell. Josh Kelly plays Jeremy, a cameraman who is Rachel’s ex-boyfriend, while Siobhan Williams is Lizzie, Jeremy’s current fiancée and on-set makeup artist.

Everlasting’s contestants include Grace, portrayed by Nathalie Kelley, who instantly wins Adam’s heart; Anna, played by Johanna Braddy, who is classy and shrewd, with her eye on the prize; Faith, a sensitive and vulnerable tomboy from America’s South portrayed by Breeda Wool; and Mary, played by Ashley Scott, a gorgeous single mum of one who has been unlucky in love.

Monday 22 February at 8.30pm on SBS 2.

  1. Watched the first episode a few months ago – ended up binging on the whole season in one very long night. If you don’t do streaming, or only have FTA unReal is highly recommended – and you’ll never look at any of The Bachelor/Bachelorette franchises he same way again!

  2. I’m planning to give this a go. Good timeslot too and it will probably start on time too being on sbs. It would be handy if this show was also available on all devices for catch up if needed as not all sbs shows are made available on all devices such as windows phone. Oh and don’t lock up your catch up site like 9 has done.

  3. Actually its Rachel Goldberg (played by Shiri Appleby)…. not Shiri Appleby (played by Rachel Goldberg)
btw Shiri ( Roswell, Life Unexpected ) is a standout in this great show.
