Returning: Four Corners, Media Watch, Q&A, Lateline

ABC’s Monday line-up returns on Monday featuring 7:30, Australian Story, Four Corners (with new host Sarah Ferguson), Media Watch, Q&A and Lateline.

“No other news service offers all Australians the breadth of the ABC’s Monday nights,” said Gaven Morris, Director ABC News.

“From programs people love to ones that can be challenging but essential viewing, Monday nights on ABC grow stronger as the home of quality, independent journalism.”

Interestingly, Lateline is not moving from its 9:30 premiere on News 24 -in the recent review of Q&A, it was recommended the show be available to all Australians, effectively avoiding an East-Coast bias. But it can’t do that while Lateline remains in place.

7.30pm – 7.30
The best analysis of local, national and international events from an Australian perspective. Hosted by Leigh Sales, with political commentary from 7.30 Political Editor, Sabra Lane in Canberra.

8pm – Australian Story
Celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2016, Australian Story returns with a gripping story that turns everything you think you know about the design of the Sydney Opera House on its head.

8.30pm – Four Corners
Sarah Ferguson returns to host Australia’s premier television current affairs program. Amidst the uproar over the match fixing revelations in tennis, Four Corners investigates the criminal networks that are threatening the integrity of sport.

9.20pm – Media Watch
Australia’s leading forum for media analysis and comment, presented by one of Australia’s most respected journalists Paul Barry.

9.35pm – Q&A
Hosted by Tony Jones, Q&A puts punters, politicians and pundits together to thrash out the hot issues of the week. It’s about democracy in action – the audience gets to ask the questions. This week Q&A returns with a panel of leading Australians to debate the challenges the new year will bring. Simulcast live on iview and ABC NewsRadio.

10.40pm – Lateline
Hosted by Emma Alberici, Lateline provides original journalism and investigations, quality analysis and insightful interviews, combined with a fresh approach to telling important stories.
