Disgraced actor Robert Hughes has lodged an application to appeal his child abuse conviction to the High Court.

Lawyers for the former Hey Dad! star will argue that the Court of Criminal Appeal was wrong when it threw out his appeal against the convictions and sentence last month.

Hughes is serving a non-parole period of six years, with a maximum term of 10 years, for 10 counts of sexual and indecent assault of four young girls over a period of 20 years in the 1980s and 1990s.

A date has not yet been fixed for consideration of the application.

  1. Again David, I ask this question last year.

An on-going legal issue, and you are allowing comments. Which could interfere with the whole Court Case.

Why aren’t comments closed, like they normally are in every other court case.
