Seven is to screen two primetime episodes of The Chase.
These will air at 7pm on Sunday January 10 and Wednesday January 13, presumably to give the show more exposure to a wider audience.
Both will be new episodes and will include the first “negative money offer.”
“The Beast” makes his first appearance on Monday February 1.

Any news on the new channel at 7? Or will it be released at the olympics?
There is no harm in trying something new during summer non ratings. Deal or No Deal began in primetime over a decade ago before settling in a 5 pm time slot. I don’t mind this at all. The only thing i don’t understand is why didn’t they get the Barrister Sean Wallace that would have made more sense than The Beast, considering Australia’s Westminster system and our legal system similar to England’s.
Great News, love this show and like to see how many questions I can answer, much more stimulating watching this and keeps the brain active compared to some rubbish shows on TV that are the same old thing over and over again.
Great I have two game shows to watch on Sunday night!
What’s the other game show? If you are referring to Family Feud there is no Sunday edition this weekend due to the Big Bash League. Simon Reeve was a great presenter of Million Dollar Minute.
This show is really over rated.
Wont be watching.
Andrew O’Keeffe is the spoiler for this show. I find he tries to over sell himself. Find him fake. Bradley in the UK version is brilliant. Unfortunately for us Aussie folk they have lots of
UK questions.
Yes!! I can’t stand him at all, too fake, too cocky, too over the top. You just have to youtube Bradley Walsh’s best moments on The Chase UK and you can see why Bradley is the better.
“youtube Bradley Walsh’s best moments”
Oh, i’ve wasted a few hours doing that, brilliant!
My sentiments exactly O;keefe is a boring showoff. Those closeups of him making faces at the camera, so yesterday.
Channel 7 is officially ruining The Chase. Congratulations.
good to see Seven testing waters for the two primetime version over the Summer-Non-Ratings period. Probably the best time to do so. No harm in trying to see how it goes.
Didn’t Hot Seat over on Nine air in primetime in its early days too? I remember that at least one episode was in primetime where the contestant was going for the million-dollar-question. Not sure if more than 1ep was in primetime or not though.
The UK version gives out negative amounts all the time, and surprisingly are taken up more than what you think they would be!!
The Governess might give the contestants some negative money. I think that the contestants might not take these type of money.
Game shows in prime time are not a desirable commodity at any time of year.
Better than repeats of Big Bang, Highway patrol, Border Security, etc…
Hope these episodes rates good!
Annoying that The Chase is in best of mode after only a few months on air, wasted opportunity to gain more viewers from Hot Seat. I dislike summer repeats of any kind, but understand hard working crews who’ve been busting their gut all year deserve a break. The Chase however has only been on air for a very short time.
What a waste of time.
