The BBC has revealed casting details for its new episode of Are You Being Served?

The most well-known to Australian audiences is arguably Mathew Horne (Gavin & Stacey, The Catherine Tate Show, Bad Education) as Young Mr Grace, grandson of the original Young Mr Grace.

The one-off episode has been written by Benidorm creator Derren Litten as part of the Landmark Sitcom Season, celebrating 60 years of BBC comedies.

Jason Watkins (Trollied) will star as Mr Humphries, while Sherrie Hewson (Benidorm) will take over as Mrs Slocombe.

Niky Wardley plays Miss Brahms, John Challis is Captain Peacock, Roy Barraclough is Mr Grainger and Arthur Smith as caretaker Mr Harman.

New characters Miss Croft, named in tribute to co-creator David Croft, will be played by Jorgie Porter and Mr Conway by newcomer Kayode Ewumi.

“It’s 1988 and Young Mr Grace is determined to drag Grace Brothers into, well 1988, but he has a problem on his hands,” says the BBC.

“Mr Humphries, Captain Peacock, Mr Rumbold and Mrs Slocombe all seem to be stuck in another era. A new member of staff, Mr Conway, joins the team but will he help shake things up or will he just put a pussy amongst the pigeons?”

There doesn’t appear to be anybody named as Mr Lucas (originally Trevor Bannister), suggesting that Mr. Conway may be taking his place. The episode will be filmed in the UK on March 5th.
