Hot on the heels of Are You Being Served?‘s reboot for the BBC comes news that Michael Crawford is to play Frank Spencer again – 38 years after Some Mothers Do ‘Ave ‘Em ended.
He will reunite with Michele Dotrice, who played long-suffering wife Betty, for a one-off sketch will be made for Sport Relief, which brings together the worlds of sport and entertainment to raise money for vulnerable people.
Crawford, now 74, said, he was “thrilled and delighted to have been asked to bring Frank back” while Dotrice said it would be an “absolute joy to be reunited again with Frank [for] such a wonderful cause.”
Some Mothers had been rumoured to be part of the comedies being revived for a BBC comedy anniversary season, but this special will air in the UK on March 18th.

I would watch Michael Crawford read the phone book; as Frank, himself or the Phantom of the Opera! What a legend. Considering he is all but retired from the business, it will be lovely to see the pair back on screen together.
I Think Michael is a bit too old at 74 to be performing any of Frank’s stunts will probably watch if it’s screened in Australia though
Finally we can find out if he moved to Australia or not
Interesting….and for a good cause…
