So just what happens when a Celebrity leaves the jungle?

Publicity, health checks & more Publicity. There's more to do once you're voted out of the jungle.

On Sunday Akmal Saleh was eliminated from I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here and rather amusingly didn’t want to leave the camp.

A flustered crew member told him “You’re going to get me fired!” before he finally agreed to accompany her. After all, there was only the duration of a commercial break to whisk him to hosts Julia Morris and Dr. Chris Brown for a Live chat. Things are tight in TV land.

Celebrities have a list of duties and medical checks once they leave camp.

I asked TEN to give us some insight into just what happens when a Celebrity leaves the jungle:

· Once the celebrity receives the news they must leave the jungle, they follow Chris and Julia up to set for their live studio chat.
· As they depart the studio, the celeb poses for a photo and records a message for social media.
· The celeb then appears appear on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here NOW! which airs on ELEVEN.
· The celeb then travels to Tech Base for a full medical and psych check-up before meeting with the producers.
· Then it is lunch time so the celeb sits down for something to eat. The crew prepare their favourite meal.
· The celeb then heads head back to their accommodation to see their family and friends and to rest.
· That evening the celeb is picked up for a full media schedule which includes radio, print and online interviews.
· The next morning the celeb does a live cross to The Project.
· Then the celeb returns home to rest before heading back to Australia.

  1. Heard Akmal on the radio the morning after talking to Fitzy & Wippa and he gave a little insight into the editing of the show…. Apparently the “crocodile challenge” was filmed over an hour. The producers kept giving Laurina & Akmal more time as the crocodiles weren’t biting. In the end they edited it down to 12 minutes.
Wonder what other “truths” are stretched?

  2. Haha – that whole ‘not wanting to leave the jungle’ thing was such an act. Based on his previous comments along the lines of ‘I should never have done this ‘, he was putting it on. He really couldn’t wait to go.

  3. Very interesting. Shouldn’t lunch time be dinner or tea time? The Project is not a morning show. Would the celebrity travel to Australia if they are from else-where?
