A 60 Minutes cameraman and producer were assaulted and injured while filming a story on the European refugee crisis.

“In a suburb of Stockholm yesterday they were confronted by a group who objected to them filming,” a Nine statement read.

“There was a series of scuffles and the police were called. The 60 Minutes cameraman and producer were slightly injured but filming continued with police at the scene.”

Fairfax reports a “group of masked men” objected to the 60 Minutes team, including presenter Liz Hayes, filming and interviewing immigrants at Rinkeby Square.

One man deliberately drove over the cameraman’s foot, a bottle was also thrown and one cameraman “was beaten right across the chin so that a tooth [came] loose.

Nine confirmed the crew were now “fine” and would continue working on the story.

The episode will appear on Channel Nine in the coming weeks.

  1. Some facts: the person they interviewed and used as a guide to a part of Stocholm known for its many migrants is working for Avpixlat. This site is a right wing web publication that is anti-migration. They have connections to the political party Sverigedemokraterna, founded in the 80’s by racists and persons that was’nt neo-nazists but actually had benen nazis in germans during WW2. The party is trying to rince its Brown past away but is still a anti-migrant far right party (and are constantly benig caught having purely racists members).
Using this guy in the way shown in the video is almost as smart as going to the US and use a KKK member as a guide in a black community….

  2. Could be just a misleading story and setup. 60 Minutes has sunk to a new low in journalism if it is a publicity stunt. Sounds like something ACA would do.

  3. Please don’t tell me this is a publicity stunt… like Molly’s fall before the premiere of the mini-series? Come on channel 9 you are better than that

    1. I’d like to think so but this is Channel 9 so definitely not better than this. I’m wondering why the “police escort” suddenly left – could they have been told they weren’t wanted?

    2. Sorry, I’m not clear – are you suggesting that staff were deliberately put in harm’s way to create a story or are you saying that the story has just been made up to promote 60 Minutes?

Come on Reuben, you are better than that (I hope).
