The fascination with dating and romance shows continues with Israeli factual entertainment format Marry Me Now having been picked up by an unnamed Australian party.

The 60-minute show sees women who are tired of waiting for their partners to pop the question take their fate into their own hands. Each prepares her own wedding and then asks her unsuspecting partner to marry them, while wearing a wedding dress.

The show was pitched at a format competition by Israeli comedienne Odelia Yakir and developed by Armoza Formats.

Germany, Italy and France have all picked up the format (including divisions of both FremantleMedia and Endemol Shine).

It isn’t clear if a network has picked up the rights for Australia or a production company.
