Disney has confirmed a fourth installment of High School Musical.
The original telemovie, which starred Zac Efron, Corbin Bleu, Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale, recently celebrated its 10th anniversary.
High School Musical 4 will document the musical numbers from the East High Wildcats as well as the school’s arch rival, the West High Knights.
It will also “continue the story” of the franchise’s last theatrical release, High School Musical 3: Senior Year.
“High School Musical is part of Disney Channel’s DNA,” Disney Channel President Gary Marsh stated in a press release. “It embodies all that we stand for. As a way of continuing to embrace that heritage, we’re excited to announce ‘the start of something new’ as we launch a search for a new class of East High Wildcats to star in a fourth installment of the High School Musical franchise.”
