Be sure to send a thank-you note to Dancing with the Stars….
Emma Freedman is set to return to Nine on Wide World of Sports, 14 months after being let go by the network.
“I’m excited to be rejoining the team at @WWOS9 & am looking forward to being back hosting on Sunday mornings with the team,” she said via Twitter.
Freedman was dumped from Weekend Today in December 2014 as part of a cost-cutting move.
But in 2015 she won Seven’s Dancing with the Stars, appeared on Studio 10 and had radio gigs.
Freedman’s working relationships at Nine have paid off given former Today exec producer Tom Malone was recently appointed Director of Sport.

wow thats a surprise. Maybe 9 realised what they let go when they saw her working on 7. 7 maybe didn’t have a permanent gig for her either.
Not sure i’d be racing back to a network that dumped me but then again Emma comes across as a person who wouldn’t hold a grudge. She also did do a good job on the wide world of sports.
I think it is as simple as budgets. There was money for hires in Sport, whereas Today had its hands tied.
I wonder whether she would host NRL matches on Friday nights?
Being a Melbourne girl that would be most surprising…..
