14 year old singer guitarist Fletcher Pilon has won Australia’s Got Talent for 2016.

The young performer from Wamberal on the NSW Central Coast defeated the other acts in the Top 5 as voted by the public: Chris Tamwoy, King Social, Sisters Doll and Matt McLaren.

He wins the $250,000 prize for his efforts.

Pilon reprised the song he performed during his audition, Infinite Child, in his memory of his younger brother, Banjo, who died after being hit by a car while skateboarding.

The final brings to a close a season that has under-performed for Nine, pushed back in the schedule after disappointing ratings.

Nine revived the series after resting it in 2015. The network has conceded it is disappointed in the ratings leaving the show out in the cold and unlikely to be renewed.

    1. The five minute vote was just added to the votes already tallied the night before. Let’s hope they have a similar think during the forthcoming federal election.

    2. The winner was determine from the votes from Sunday’s show and Monday’s show combined.
So in theory….it’s very possible Fletcher Pilon was already the winner before the 5 minute voting lines were open on Monday night. @ Rutzie….how was the voting a debacle??

      1. No one outside of NSW/VIC/TAS could vote which would have benefited Fletcher and a lot of people on facebook were saying they couldn’t get through in the five minute window due to the line being busy and when they finally did the lines had already closed.

      2. A live vote on a national program that isn’t broadcast live in all locations = shonky.

A 1990s-style telephone vote, inclusive of busy signals and an an ability to get through = even more shonky!

If this show gets the boot, it’s just one less reality/competition format to numb the brains of Australians. No great loss!
