Good news if you have the newest Apple TV.

iview is now available on the 4th generation Apple TV, the platform which was released last September.

ABC Head of TV Strategy and Digital Products, Rebecca Heap, says “We’ve had strong audience demand for iview on the new Apple TV and have built an experience that makes it easier than ever to explore and watch the ABC’s distinct and diverse Australian stories on your TV.”

The interface includes a ‘continue watching’ option on the home screen to pick up viewing where it last stopped.

There is no word on iview being available on earlier Apple TV models.

The app is available from App Store through the device.

  1. Finally!! Thanks for the heads up. I just installed and road tested it and it works better than the PS3/4 platforms. I do recommend downloading the iPhone/iPad ‘Remote’ app so you can use the keyboard for searches etc coz the voice commands don’t work with the FTA station apps (though it does with Netflix). This just leaves Nine as the only FTA station not on AppleTV.

  2. Finally but seeing as they had been promising an appletv app way before the ATV4 was released why haven’t they released it for the old model at the same time.
