No real surprises here.

UK crime Scott & Bailey is now confirmed to end with its upcoming 5th season (currently airing in the UK).

Stars Suranne Jones and Lesley Sharp had previously mentioned they thought this would be their last outing as characters Rachel Bailey and Janet Scott.

“It’s a mutually agreed decision by all parties,” ITV told RadioTimes of the series end, noting it has always been commissioned one series at a time.

The series was written by Sally Wainwright (Happy Valley, Last Tango in Halifax, Unforgiven) from an idea co-conceived by Suranne Jones.

The final season sees a single crime story across three episodes, described as “one of the biggest and darkest cases they have ever had to face”.

A date for Australia has not yet been confirmed.

  1. I’m not surprised that Scott & Bailey has been written by Sally Wainwright who wrote Happy Valley & Last Tango In Halifax. I have enjoyed these dramas immensely. She is an absolute talent !
