Four Corners exposé on Clive Palmer’s business empire won its timeslot last night.

At 932,000 viewers it was higher than some shows on commercial networks could attract at 7pm and 7:30pm. It was the second week in a row of bumper figures for the investigative ABC show, but Palmer rejected the show’s claims in a heated exchange with Lateline’s Emma Alberici.

Meanwhile reality shows My Kitchen Rules and Married at First Sight were both up on numbers from last Monday.

All Star Family Feud took a drubbing, down from 670,000 last week to just 420,000 this week -the kind of numbers that saw Reno Rumble punished in media headlines.

Seven network won Monday with 31.2% then Nine 24.6%, ABC 21.6%, TEN 17.1% and SBS 5.6%.

Four Corners (932,000) led for ABC followed by ABC News (861,000), Australian Story (828,000), Media Watch (817,000), 7:30 (765,000) and Q & A (551,000).

The Project drew (630,000 / 526,000) for TEN. TEN Eyewitness News was 575,000, All Star Family Feud was 420,000, and Melbourne Comedy Festival Debate was just 396,000.

On SBS it was Secrets of the Brain (231,000), Royal Navy School (180,000), SBS World News (160,000) and Sex Diaries (111,000).

ONE’s movie Sahara topped multichannels with 227,000.

  1. Well better late than never – nice to see the ABC finally come to the realization that Tony Jones’s BFF actually does has some questions to answer about some of his business transactions, this is after about 2-3 years of “move along now – nothing to see here” from ABC Radio, Q&A, etc etc

Palmer has so far blamed his problems on the Chinese Government, his lawyers, Glen Lazarus and his wife, Jacquie Lambie, CITIC Pacific, The PNG Government, low metal prices, the Qld ALP, the QLD LNP, three consecutive QLD Premiers and their treasurers, the AEC Commission, Rob Messenger, Rupert Murchoch, BHP Billiton, Rio Tinto, Kevin Rudd, Julia Gillard, Kevin Rudd again, Tony Abbott, Malcom Turnbull

I think that the complete list – unless he is trying to pin some of his troubles onto Elvis!

    1. I also feel that I must share some of the blame…

It’s like watching a massive star near the end of its life. You know it’s going to implode but you can’t predict exactly when.

  2. i too watched four corners. Suprised with numbers for ASFF theyve been pretty consistent over last month or so. While watching HTGAWM last night on 7flix noticed more drama coming as Criminal minds on 830 Thursdays. Running out movie titles or a ratings thing?

  3. I watched 4 corners and can totally understand why it rated so well. Shame I stuck around for Q&A which was cringeworthy. Was Germaine Greer drunk or what?

As for Ten’s pathetic performance. One Comedy festival is fine – but I believe you have televise about 5 this month. If viewers want unfunny comedy- they can watch Married at first sight.

    1. Yes, I started watching Q&A, hoping that there would be some salient comment on the 60 Minutes child recovery thing but couldn’t take more than a few minutes of drivel.

  4. 4 corners was excellent last night. Just goes to show that people still want quality journalism. I would love Sarah Ferguson to get involved in doing interviews in the upcoming election. She is compulsive viewing doing that stuff.
