My Kitchen Rules: top 5 revealed

MKR settles on 5 remaining teams -to go around the country with instant restaurants one more time.

Hit cooking show My Kitchen Rules has settled on its top 5 couples for its 2016 Finals, following the elimination of Newcastle mates Chris and Cookie.

The teams are:

Anna and Jordan (Mother and Son)
Mitch and Laura (The Whizz Kids)
Carmine and Lauren (Married)
Gianni and Zana (Lawyers)
Tasia and Gracia (Sisters)

They will all compete in another Ultimate Instant Restaurant round.

“For me, the Ultimate Instant Restaurant round is one of the best parts of the competition,” says judge Pete Evans.

“You get to see phenomenal growth with some teams.

“You know they have listened to the critiques and worked hard to improve their techniques. And if they can master the pressure, you know they’ve got a good shot at the grand final,” he continued.

Having another round of Instant Restaurants will likely be good for Seven’s ratings but hell for rival programmers trying to pinpoint the finale, so they can launch new shows against House Rules.

  1. Im glad it’s back to the instant restaurant rounds they are the best part of the show and i agree with other commentators that last nights eviction was rushed it should have been like previous ones it was also a bit unfair because there were only 2 judges not the usual 6

    1. No need to think back to Baywatch. The comments are exactly the same on a daily basis – following the formula:
Anything on Seven and Nine (the Evil Empire) = Bad
Anything on Ten (the Underdog) = Good
Anything on ABC and SBS (the Public Service) = Good
Anything on Foxtel = no comment (nobody watching)
Anything on Netflix (the Uber-Cool Disrupter) = Fantastic

      1. Formula is amusing, but a generalisation. In the last week alone: comments supportive of You’re Back in the Room, scepticism over new plans for SBS series Undressed, opinions on Foxtel fast-tracking, suggestions on The Project programming, support for Kerri-Anne’s Sunday Night interview, positive comment for Rebecca Maddern debut on Footy Show. Even this post has engagement on MKR storyline. I’ll concede I rarely see criticism for Netflix, other than a lack of local production.

  2. Oh goody. We have another week or 2 to listen to Zana bitch. How much longer will this rubbish continue? And before anyone suggests I can switch channels – how do I avoid the millions of promos during the football and the pop-ups during shows on Seven’s other channels???

  3. Chris and Cookie were really hard done by last night…… For some reason for a show that seems to extend in episodes every year, last nights elimination seemed really rushed….

    1. I agree that it did seem rushed last night. Unsure why they couldn’t have had the standard 3 course elimination challenge, like all other teams have had.

Having said that, I think the top 4 teams have been obvious for a while, so I was kind of hoping both teams were eliminated last night to leave us with those 4 teams ASAP.
