Nowhere Boys wins International Emmy Kids Award

ABC3 series Nowhere Boys has won at the International Emmy Kids Awards in Cannes.

Series 2 of the Matchbox Pictures production won in the Series category defeating entries from Italy, Brazil and The Netherlands.

Nowhere Boys has previously won a slew of trophies including AACTA Awards, Logie Awards, AWGIE Awards, Screen Producers Australia Awards, ADG Awards, Banff Rockie Awards, Kidscreen Awards and Prix Jeunesse.

A new series is also on the way, with a new cast.

“Nowhere Boys sets a new benchmark for exciting, bold and contemporary storytelling, and demonstrates our older children’s strategy at work. It’s an engaging and unique Australian program with strong international sales appeal, and is enjoyed by kids, teens and grown-ups alike,” said ABC Director of TV Richard Finlayson.

Meanwhile ELEVEN’s animation series Get Ace! by Galaxy Pop was also nominated but lost out to Japan’s Ronja, The Robber’s Daughter.
