Upcoming local streaming service Ozflix is planning to launch mid year.

Backed by producer Ron Brown and industry distribution veteran Alan Finney, the service is hoping to have every Aussie movie ever made.

“We are looking for anyone who has the rights for an Australian produced feature film, so it can be licensed to the Ozflix platform and therefore be seen again by the world,” it announced on Facebook.

“Operating as a pay-per-view service, and with rental proceeds to be spit 50/50 with rights owners, there is a financial benefit to having a film streamed on Ozflix.”

The Australian Film Future Foundation Limited will distribute grant money to filmmakers who cannot afford to digitise their films.
