Let the games begin.
Seven has now confirmed its plans to conclude My Kitchen Rules and kick off House Rules for 2016:
Thursday, April 21 at 7.30pm MKR Semi-final One
Monday, April 25 at 7.30pm MKR Semi-final Two
Tuesday, April 26 at 7.30pm MKR Grand Final
Wednesday April 27 at 7:30pm House Rules season return
With its plans now sorted, Nine and TEN can lock in their dates for MasterChef and The Voice.
With the top four semi-finalist teams to be decided at the end of tonight’s episode, one team is closer to winning the title of My Kitchen Rules champion for 2016.
Tomorrow night’s first semi-final (April 21, 7.30pm) will see the winner progress straight to Tuesday’s grand final where they will compete against the winner of Monday night’s (April 25,7.30pm) second semi-final for $250,000 in prize money.
Hosted by Pete Evans and Manu Feildel, My Kitchen Rules has reaffirmed its place as Australia’s number one entertainment program with the current season averaging 2.3 million combined (metro+regional) viewers each episode. It is also the most watched regular program in 2016 for total viewers.
From the producers of MKR, House Rules returns on Wednesday, April 27 at 7.30pm with big challenges, big decisions, big designs and big Aussie families.
Six new teams from around Australia are set to take on the biggest challenge of their lives. They all have one thing in common: a lack of space. Together, they’ll travel the country, hand over the keys to their homes and leave their opposition to transform every room in their house. They will need to make the most of every nook and cranny as they battle it out to become mortgage free.
Teams vying for this year’s life-changing prize are:
Melbourne / Fil & Joe
New South Wales / Nancy & Daniel
Queensland/ Luke & Cody
South Australia / Brooke & Michelle
Victoria / Claire & Hagan
Western Australia/ Rose & Rob
House Rules is hosted by Johanna Griggs and features expert judges – award-winning architect and designer Joe Snell and Home Beautiful magazine editor Wendy Moore – with acclaimed interior designer Carolyn Burns-McCrave.

FYI: Best Bits (Seven) is out on Tue (26/4).
Finally an end date for My Kitchen Ruuuuunns forever…
and Masterchef runs even longer! Know wonder audiences are over food shows come this time of the year.
I am so glad that all the MKR adverts will stop, that shows must be the most advertised. It starts in November and continues to May. (The drag the show out so much to improve their annual ratings, but seriously…)
The recent House Rules adverts have even started doing my head in. The funny thing is I don’t even watch any MKR or HR adverts but fast forward and they annoy me just from that.
So tomorrow nights H&A 3 episodes are out again??
1 ep tomorrow.
Channel 7’s House Rules promos began earlier this year as “Crowded House Rules”. Then the “Crowded” bit vanished, never to be seen again. What happened, did the iconic rock band threaten to sue?
I’ll be watching HR & MC let’s hope this season of HR is better last year’s was abit of a bore.
I’m looking forward to House Rules.
All teams seem to be a good choice again and hope it does well but begin to wonder if renovation shows are coming to the end of the run with the disaster on Reno Rubble (sorry mean Rumble)
I hate to be rude but I hope and pray to whatever forces are out there that Reno shows all crash and burn. I hope HR crashes and burns with RR
Finally! It feels like MKR has being going on forever.
Looking forward to HR, something decent for the family to watch without bickering or inappropriate content, may not appeal to everyone but for our young family its perfect
Ten has TBA at 7.30pm Sunday May 1 also on the Monday.
Ten….lock in master chef for 1st may
