Returning: Marco Polo

Season two of Asian-based epic begins in July.

Netflix recently announced a returning date for its Asian-based epic, Marco Polo.

The 10 episode series, created by John Fusco, returns on Friday July 1.

It stars Lorenzo Richelmy, Michelle Yeoh, Benedict Wong, Joan Chen, Zhu Zhu, Tom Wu, Olivia Cheng, Claudia Kim, Rick Yune, Remy Hii, Mahesh Jadu and Uli Latukefu.

In a world replete with greed, betrayal, sexual intrigue and rivalry, Marco Polo, is based on the famed explorer’s adventures in Kublai Khan’s court in 13th Century China.

John Fusco, who wrote the Academy-Award nominated feature Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron is executive producer and showrunner along with Dan Minahan, whose previous work includes Homeland and Game of Thrones, with Patrick Macmanus, Harvey Weinstein, Bob Weinstein and Elizabeth Sarnoff as executive producers.
