We finally have more news on Season 6 of Homeland.

As previously reported, it will move to New York and now we have word it will tackle the US presidential election.

“The entire season will take place between election day and inauguration day. It’s an interesting time; a transition and transfer of power is happening,” showrunner Alex Gansa told Variety.

“In that 72 days, we’re hopefully going to tell an interesting story,” he continued. “Whether the president is male or female, it’s going to be a very interesting character.”

But it doesn’t necessarily mean the show is in for another terrorist attack.

“We’re back in the city where 9/11 happened,” he said. “The easy thing to do would be another big terrorist attack in New York, but I think that’s bad karma. We’re going to tell a different story.”

Rupert Friend will also return as Peter Quinn.

“Rupert will be back, but not the same,” he said. “How we’re dramatising Peter Quinn is still undecided at this moment.”

  1. Yep, that’s all we need. On top of all the Australian and USA election drama, debates, news, gossip, scandals etc. they have to turn one of my fave shows into more election drama.

  2. Am I the only one that thinks it’s dumb that they revealed Quinn’s alive? It looked so final in the last scene of s5, would have actually been better if they kept the info to themselves until the episode with him appeared. Would be more of a WTF moment and ensure more people would tune in to see how the hell that happened.

    1. I also wondered about that but I’m not aware that they’ve confirmed that he survived, only that he’s in the show. Could be in flashbacks or in Carrie’s mind if she goes of the rails again.

    1. I’ve liked all seasons also. Homeland has received so much negative press.
It seemed to me the critics ignored the fact that Carrie was a CIA agent with serious mental health issues, and wanted clear – headed continuity from her character. Go figure 🙂
Claire Danes is brilliant throughout all seasons.

  3. I have it on good authority that the President elect will be played by Bozo the Clown, making his welcome return to Reality TV.
New season resumes in September, I understand.

  4. Well I’m in. A lot of people (understandably) wrote this off after the third season but S5 was fantastic, second only to S1. I’m glad that Quinn will be back as he’s possibly my favourite character. Hopefully Saul Berinson will also return.
