Rebooted UK animation Danger Mouse is returning for a second series.

The series, which screens in Australia on ABC3, sees Danger Mouse and his hapless hamster sidekick Penfold, combat old and new allies and adversaries in the 21st century.

Head Writer Ben Ward recently told TV Tonight, “The new Danger Mouse is James Bond meets The Simpsons. It’s an action-spy show set in an animated world where each character has their own comedy schtick. It’s a very fast paced world with high comedy jokes, but still has the strong spy adventure.”

Cheryl Taylor, Controller of CBBC, says: “Crikey Chief – we are over the moon that our first series of Danger Mouse has been such a huge hit with parents and CBBC viewers alike. The high-octane adventures of the mighty Mouse and his trusted pal Penfold are destined to be appointment to view TV for years to come.”

Star Alexander Armstrong, says: “I have had enormous fun playing Danger Mouse, whose style, bravery and wit I greatly admire. I am almost unbearably excited about what new magnificent missions and terrifying situations the writing team will come up with for Danger Mouse and Penfold in series two!”
