Intrepid UK journalist Stacey Dooley returns to SBS 2 with Worst Place to be a Woman in which she travels to Honduras and The Philippines to investigate why women are forced to live in dangerous and desperate situations.

Episode One
For many young women today, their biggest concerns may be their career, their relationships or their lifestyle. But in some parts of the world, it’s a very different story: murder, kidnapping and sexual exploitation are daily hazards for millions of girls and young women.

Stacey travels to Honduras, the most dangerous place in the world to be a woman. With the highest murder rate of women, years of conflict and civil war have led to women routinely being targeted and killed. Stacey reveals a country scarred by violence, shockingly macho attitudes and little justice or help for young women, 16 of whom are murdered during Stacey’s two-week visit.

Tuesday, 31 May at 8.30pm on SBS 2.
