CBS has now ordered that Good Wife spin-off starring Diane Lockhart (Christine Baranski) and Lucca Quinn (Cush Jumbo) for 2017.

In addition to Baranski and Jumbo, the new series will introduce new characters and pick up one year after the events of the recent finale.

Creators Robert and Michelle King are set to co-write the first episode but will not showrun the series.
They will co-create and exec produce with Phil Alden Robinson (Field of Dreams), Ridley Scott, David Zucker, Brooke Kennedy and Liz Glotzer.

CBS Television Studios president David Stapf said in a statement, “The quality of The Good Wife has always rivaled anything on television and we’re excited to tell more stories with some of the brilliant characters Robert and Michelle King created.”

The series is produced for CBS-owned All Access digital subscription service for 2017, but could potentially be picked up by TEN.

  1. Great news, there have been rumours that there may be a spin off. Hope 10 pick it up, can’t watch streaming services on my slow computer. Hope they make reference to Alicia & what she’s doing. And please, no David Lee.

  2. I suppose this will give us the chance to find out what happened to Alicia after the slap. It would be odd if she simply wasn’t mentioned at all.

  3. I really hope Ten do pick it up. The Good Wife wasn’t a strong rater for them, so don’t know how willing they will be to pick up the spin-off. Hopefully the economics for an hour a week of content work out.
