  1. Any sadness i have with this news, is offset by the enormous warmth and respect I have for this actor and his long career. One of the first tv shows i watched and loved was Mr Ed. His ‘Wilbur’ was a genial and eternally comedically conflicted man. As a kid, i so believed the silly construct; even if i knew that a horse couldn’t actually speak. Innocent times. Alan Young had great chemistry with his co-star and that is a pretty out there concept, as he spent five years giving a funny and touching performance along side a horse!
