Sad-sack comedian Larry David will be back with more Curb Your Enthusiasm.

HBO has confirmed a ninth season though a formal return date is not yet announced.

“In the immortal words of Julius Caesar, ‘I left, I did nothing, I returned,'” says David.

Curb Your Enthusiasm last aired in 2011, totalling 80 episodes (and one special), attracting 39 Emmy nominations and two wins. Larry David has remained close to HBO in the interceding 5 years including the telemovie, High Maintenance.

Newly-installed HBO programming chief Casey Bloys, said, “We’re thrilled that Larry has decided to do a new season of Curb and can’t wait to see what he has planned.”

No other cast have yet been confirmed.

Any return for Curb Your Enthusiasm is likely to be seen in Australia on Foxtel which has an exclusive HBO output deal.

  1. great news! A welcome return to comedy since nearly everything else seems to have been dumbed down so much in recent years, exceptions being Louis CK & Black Comedy, the only ones i’ve really laughed so hard at i’ve cried.

  2. Love me some Larry David and Curb. An all time favourite. So dark at times and wicked and brilliant. Off topic, but just wondering why comments to Janet Waldo post are closed? I wanted to leave a tribute comment. Please don’t curb my enthusiasm for the late great Ms Waldo! (see how i did that, David, somehow brought it back to topic 🙂
