Oops. Cash Cow caller tells Sunrise: “I wake up with Today.”

Not quite the words Kochie & Sam were expecting to hear Live this morning on Sunrise.

Priceless moment this morning when Sunrise rang a viewer named Lynette in its Cash Cow segment only to hear her say “I wake up with Today” -the very same phrase used in Today‘s own cash giveaway.

“Get stuffed!” responded an unimpressed David Koch.

But Lynette, who advised she was watching Sunrise, appeared to be a little confused by the whole ordeal. Realising she had indeed won $20,000 for having answered the call, she was moved to tears and explained how it would help family hardship.

“Sorry for telling you to get stuffed,” Kochie conceded….

  1. When Kochie said get stuffed he didnt do it in a mean way. They did laugh when she did say I wake up with Today.

    But I do wonder how long these shows can just keep on dishing out the money. It does get a tad boring and repetitive.

  2. I wake up with ABC Breakfast where I don’t need gimmicks to watch. Michael, Virginia and the crew all shine as decent, educated individuals! Classy all the way!

  3. Classic Kochie, this is why he has it all over Karl… it was a natural reaction, and why wouldn’t you say that when someone mentions your rivals name, Today take many pot shots at Sunrise and have for years! He did apologise too when all is said and done!

  4. It happened before a couple of years ago it’s really funny made for great tv and it was really nice of Kochie and the team to still give her the money ,nice touch .as for Kochie saying get stuffed it was in jest .some people have no sense of humour.

    Cannot believe what Kochie and Sam said …on live TV….
    I am rarely up that early…and if I am…I watch ABC Newa 24…

  8. It’s like that time someone rang up Quizmania to answer the question on The Up Late Game Show. The Quizmania host was confused as to why the caller kept saying “Karate Kid” over and over

  9. So Kochie tells a poor woman caller to “Get Stuffed” ? Wow, what a big guy. Really classy Kochie. Or perhaps petulant and downright rude ? Another spoilt network star throwing his toys out of the playpen when someone says something he doesn’t like ? With the previously unbeatable Sunrise seriously under the hammer are cracks appearing that reveal the true nature of our loveable hosts?
    There’s no excuse to belittle a viewer with none of the perks and good fortune you enjoy Kochie…remember the ride doesn’t last forever, and who will be crying when it all finally stops ?

    1. Oh please! Lighten up. The woman told him to “get stuffed” back. It was a funny moment and I’m sure the lady is quite happy with her $20,000 and having a good laugh about it.

  10. Which is why I always answer the phone with “KBBL is going to give me something stupid!”

    All that money sounds mighty tempting – but I think I’m going to have to go with the elephant…

      1. Today is jsut a cheap copy of sunrise all the same segments as sunrise they copy everything from sunrise even the travelling and the way the weather is presented the cash giveaways one has the cow the other has the box that box looks so ridiculous just more cringeworthy
